Does anyone know how much you can change on a bike before you have to
SVA & register it as a 1-off? I assume you can do pretty much anything
as long as you stick with the original frame, but wibble.

    From here:- http://www.motorhomeworld.com/SVAapproval.htm

    I got:
An amateur-built vehicle will only need to obtain SVA if the Driver and
Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) decides that it has a new identity and
therefore requires a first license. At present, these vehicles would be
allocated either a new (current year), 'Q' prefix, or age-related
registration mark. Those which are allowed to retain the donor vehicle
registration mark will not require SVA. For further information contact DVLA
or your local Vehicle Registration Office.

Reading further on from that page if you intend to Trike said vehicle then
    it will need SVA.

Best place to ask would be your local office.
