With my recent accident, I could be loosing out on some capital from the TZR
that was going to go towards my next bike which I had hoped to be an NC30.
So, I've decided I should get a trail bike until my full licence kicks in
near the end of next year, thus saving me a bit of cash, an possibly
stopping me from speeding too much untill I have all 12 points to play with.

Now, I like the sound of an XR250. The army usues them right, so I was
wondering if anyone knew any websites that advertise bikes straight from the
    MOD or MOD auctions?

Also, was speaking to a guy who came in work today on an Armstrong MT500,
and he said he thinks that the XR's come out without lights or other road
kit, so it would have to be sorted.

Do ex army bikes need to be re-registered when they leave the MOD or not?

    TIA

I thought someone posted a link here in the last few weeks. I remember
that I did look at it, but I suppose it could have been posted somewhere
    else.

Hmm. That doesn't help much, does it?

I remembered the link being posted, as thats why I knew they sold the
    XR250's, but I can't find it, which is why I asked :-/

A bit of web research turns up that many of the XR250's could have seen
    desert use in the gulf.

Nice, I can be in some horse brass pub and be going on about how my bike
was in the SAS, but I can't talk about it. It'd certainly make a
pleasant change from masturbating over Guns 'n Ammo.

    I must get one.

And ex-military Landies will (almost?) all be 24-volt, don't forget.

You can talk about it. You just have to be careful to make sure that no
    one ever sees it.

  17. And we'll end up with ten times more XR250s than were ever really in the
    SAS.

    Grimly Curmudgeon wibbled incoherently
It could spawn a new security sticker :

"Don't **** with my bike, it was in the SAS"
