Just to add to my earlier post

The CB125 failed its MOT on just one thing - a rubber bush at the base of
the rear suspension. Cant buy the bush on its own(although Haynes say it
comes out easy enough) I have to get the small U shaped bracket with the
    bush installed for £125....

That's more than I would expect to get for the whole bike!

    Bollocks!

Sounds like bollocks to me as well - is that my old CB125? If it is, I
had the suspension bushes replaced shortly before you bought it off me
    - I'd be astounded if they've gone again. You can certainly get them
replaced individually - speak to Swift Motorcycles in Laindon (01268
542073). They did them the last time.

Failing that, if you don't reckon there's excessive play in the
suspension, take it to another garage and get it re-MOT'd. They may
well not pick up on that - some are more thorough than others. For the
sake of an extra £15 or whatever, it's worth risking it.

How's it running apart from that?

Looks fucking _proper_, that place. You can tell, you know. Sort of
an ordered chaos of bikes and bike-related stuff everywhere - but not
    dirty or manky, like. Proper.

The boys know what they're doing, too. And their labour charge is very
    reasonable.

Whatever trivial, rare, or insignificant screw, washer, grommit or
gasket you want - they'll have it.

They're absolutely 100pc straight on MOTs though - no race cans.

Certainly is your old bike, It's a bit Ruff. But you could expect that after
a year in the back garden. Quite chuffed I got it to run again!

I will try Swift (they are closed today) but I am not very mobile for
obvious reasons so I hope they will pop it in the post.

The MOT garage showed me how much play there was in the bush and I would
tend to agree that there is too much, dunno why. I remember you telling me
you had them changed before I bought it. Guess the suspension is a bit old
and saggy causing too much strain on the bushes???

    Cheers

  8. Dunno if it's true or not, but the blokes at Cambridge Motorcycles
(which sounds like Swifts) said that there is a bit of a crack-down
at the minute; Claire's ZXR had to have the race can swapped before
it would pass. (but they lent us the tools to do it)

    William Grainger wibbled incoherently...
They obviously didn't lend you the tools to refit it. I think if you
ride slowly enough up the A413, you might find the nuts that held[1] it
    on :)
