Missing oil filler cap. Quick fix?

My BiL has just phoned me wanting me to drive out to him with the oil filler
cap he left on his driveway after topping up the oil before his ride this
    morning.

Oil is escaping onto his back wheel and he's had a few massive slides. There
appears to be plenty of oil left.

I've suggested he packs a clean rag in the hole and proceeds with caution.

Any other suggestions from the ukrm massive?

I did *exactly* what he's done - only ended up lobbing the Bandit,
pulling out of a junction as the oily tyre didn't grip ...

I scrounged around the roadside and found a plastic wrapper. Wiped it
off, wadded it up and stuffed it tightly in the hole. That got me
home. Something non-absorbent that will fit reasonably tightly in the
hole and not dangle inside or outside will do, I'm sure.

    Pip says...
Sounds like a job for an oil filler cap.

Buy bottle of wine, drink wine and use cork in orifice.
    Resume journey ;-)

I'd cut the clean rag in two and put one part of it in my underwear

or... maybe I'd just claim to be a member of the IAM.

Cheers Pip (et al). He got home safely.

Whilst out on his ride he noticed his number plate had fallen off.
So he asked at a nearby house for paper & a pen so he could fashion a
    temporary replacement.
I laughed when he told me this as I don't think I'd have bothered.

But then he got pulled on the way home and, because of his DIY efforts, the
    VFR-owning policewoman let him off.

I rang Green Flag when I did that. Really didn't want to take the
    risk.
