I have a 1981 Gloldwing the mirror's are mounted on the faring. I have
noticed on windy days that the mirror will move out of adjustment. How can I
tighten up the mirror so it wont be so loose ?
    Thanks,
    Dusty

As I recall.. the fairing on that model were fabricated by someone other
    than
Honda.. hmmm.. Don't remember exactly who that was.. In any event, Honda
doesn't have access to the accessories that came with the fairing.. and it
    was
necessary to order parts, like mirrors. from the fabricator.. Also, as I
    recall..
the 1984 GoldWing was the first one that came with the Honda fabricated
    fair-
    ings, trunks and bags..

The mirror problems on those models were a chronic situation and the later
models could be tightened and/or adjusted.. The earlier models like yours
wore pretty quickly and about the only recourse was to replace the mirrors..
If you have access to a very helpful Honda parts guy.. maybe he can help
you to locate a source for those pesky mirrors and you can replace them
with something that appears original and not some bolt on type crap..

I'm thinking that your mirrors are not too adjustable as far as tightening
    them
very much.. Just not too much to work with, there.. Good luck and I hope
you find what you need.. hmmm.. A little touch of clear epoxy might help
    some.. Regards

Actually, if I remember correctly (and it's been a few years....about
20 to be more precise) from my old Wing, if the fairing is a Hondaline
fairing and not a Vetter you can remove the mirror from the fairing
and tighten the mirror from the inside. Basic small movements were
done by moving the head of the mirror. If the operator wanted more
visability, there was a section at the base mount to loosen and make
larger adjustments and then tighten back up before mounting.

Again, this is assuming it's a Hondaline and not a Vetter.
