I'm not keen on riding bikes I have advertised for sale, IYSWIM, and
my other bike is broken.

Wait until I've sold the 'blade and bought its replacement[1], then we
can swap.

yeah, but it's better still if the regular doesn't let themselves get
"taken down" i.e. gives as good as they get - it's fucking great
entertainment for the rest of us.

I think it's the same as Dodger's neg reaction to RBR-jaunt posts;
people see an easy/popular target and join in, for a variety of
reasons. <fx: shrug> Human[1] nature

But you seemed to be doing such a good job up until about half an hour
ago.

FWIW I agree that Alex's post was OTT, and was penning a reply to that
effect when I got distracted by work[1]. I've no problem with it, and
others, taking Dr Gower to task over some of her more outrageous
claims, but it did seem intentionally nasty, rather than the '****
off, lying ****' type of piss-take we used to get.

I definitely got the impression that Alex has some 'issues' with
Molly, possibly over the whole TS thang...

Why is it that if more then a few people agree/comment on something it's a
'bandwagon' ?

I don't think people are "having a pop" at Molly - they're having a pop at
what Molly said - ie. the claims are being questioned.

I don't think it's the same at all.
SD's reaction surprised me because normally he's the first one taking the
piss out of himself for the foibles he encounters on his RBR epics - which
is what makes them such good reading.

I think the "Bear Incident" disproves that particular theory.

 

There was no attempt to 'take down' a regular poster.
I simply reacted to (what from my own experience of riding
bikes I knew to be) a fanciful literary work of fiction,
posing as fact. The OP has IME a fairly long history of such
postings and I simply felt that the time had come to redress the
balance.

Nope. Just introducing reality back into the equation.
A persons life choices are their own and I entirely respect that.
Equally I'm not going to change the way I post or my responses to
someone simply for the fear of being decried as a 'TS-o-phobe'.
If someone posts obvious bullshit often enough, then I figure that
it's about time that something was said. I simply bit the bullet
and said it.
