Oh, I'm not necessarily disagreeing with any of that. But they *do* have
a PR problem with the Great Washed[1] and this was always going to be
ammo against them. The "SOMETHING MUST BE DONE!" brigade will be all
over this like a rash.

Again, no real argument. In fairness she does say "I have to admit that
one of the things that attracted me to the house was the opportunity to
see the much-vaunted TT races. But over the years I have been put off. I
don't get any of the exhilaration; all we get are accidents."
