Mnaul says 180/55/17 & handbook says 190/50/17. Bloke at shop says you can fit either. Which is original fitment. Talking to local Ap dealer is a no-no after i called him an ignormant twat the other week. -- Nige, Honda VTR1000 SOLD! BMW K1200S Range Rover Vogue Aprilia RSV Mille
I've no idea but thanks for teaching me a new word:- http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=ignormant
On mine (2001 "R") 180 was standard and 190 an optional fitment for extra grip on the track. The 190 slows the steering and many racers prefer the 180. For the road and the occasional track day I'd use the 180. Regards, Ian
Already answered, but to add weight: the copied manuals that I have state either 190/50/17 D208 for road or 180/55/D208RR for track. IMO the 180-section feels better on my Tuono; the steering feels much lighter. In both cases on mine, I've had D208RRs.
Heh, just re-read your post. I thought the manuals stated 180 for the track and 190 for the road - I've got a motley assortment of workshop manuals on a CD from ebay, because my bike didn't come with any manuals. I figured that RSV Mille ones would be close enough.
Had the new 2CT's fit today & bloody hell what a difference. The old tyres where diablos, but fucked. These felt so much better even brand new on the bike. Found a new spannerman.. Fit two brand new tyres (supplied by me) Fit headstock bearings (supplied by me) Fit new brake discs (supplied by me) Fit new rear pads (supplied by him) Tried to fit crash bungs, but wrong type £80 He runs a racing place & his mech guy was the bloke i bought the 916 of a couple of years ago. Next week, he's doing the suspension setup & it's ready for road & track -- Nige, Honda VTR1000 SOLD! BMW K1200S Range Rover Vogue Aprilia RSV Mille
