michelin .... what are you doing ?

  1. Is michelin playing unfair in motoGP ? ... It seems so. I know I wont
be buying any michelin products because of this. Stop messin' around
and let all michelin riders share the best tires... for the sake of
    racing.

Please read the following from crash.net. (link below to the article)

"Sete Gibernau completed the out lap to the grid in all sorts of
trouble. A massive vibration with the rear tyre reared its head during
the out lap. Upon arrival to the grid, he said to crew chief Juan
Martinez that they were f***ed with this tyre. Asking Michelin if
there was a solution, heads were shaken horizontally.

Unnerved, Gibernau stormed into turn one of the race only to drift
wide as the vibration really took hold with riders rushing past him on
the right hand side. The vibration was impossible to ride through
leaving no respite for the now distant championship contender.

"Michelin don't not help me, but going out and racing on a tyre that
I'd never used was hardly the best choice. I nearly came in with 6
    laps to go," he said.

When he finished, he did not do the slowing down lap not because there
was no tread left, but because he could not be bothered. One cannot
blame him.... Especially as the Gauloises Yamaha garage gets even more
and more secretive by the race.

Upon arrival into Parc Ferme, Rossi's tyre was covered up in seconds
with a tyre warmer. Even after the celebrations had moved on upstairs
to the press conference, the tyre warmer stayed on the rear of Rossi's
bike as the entire M1 was wheeled into the scrutineering bay on the
stand, rather than the warmers being removed.

Curious hey? Is it Michelin deciding that they would rather have a
very marketable Rossi on their adverts than any other rider?"

  2. Michelin intentionally screwing Sete?

Sounds a little paranoid given that he lead for most of the first two
races and was 2nd for most of the last race and performed well in the
practice sessions at Shanghai (he wasn't on a qualifier the whole
time). How bad can his tires be? Did Melandri's tire come apart?

Although I could certainly see Michelin preferring Rossi if Sete is
gonna blame his loss on their tires.

The tyre wasn't scrubbed in during morning warmup? That's the team's
problem. Or was a type and spec he hadn't tried? That also looks like
the team's problem. Or the one hand-made tyre from the batch that was
faulty. That shit happens every once in a while.
