    Hi Everyone,

First time poster here and I hope I aren't breaking any of your rules by
    doing a vendor post.

Metric Rider is a new Australian business dedicated to serving Australian
metric cruiser owners. We will be starting out with a line of exhausts from
US manufacturer "Bub Enterprises" and hopefully within the next month or so
we will have a selection of their exhausts for the Yamaha Star line of
cruisers. We plan to expand the product line as quickly as possible to
include other cruiser products such as air boxes and no end of chrome, but
naturally we have to start somewhere. Metric Rider plans to have all
products in stock locally in Australia, and by us buying in bulk there will
be savings over importing products yourself directly plus the added benefit
of local support on an Eastern Australian time zone.

Please feel free to take a look at the Metric Rider website and I am more
than happy to hear any feedback you may have. Although if you are going to
flame me for a vendor post I hope you are nice about it...

p.s. In the next couple of weeks we should have in stock oil filter
relocation kits for Yamaha V Star 1100's which turns a minimum one hour job
of replacing the oil filter at service time to mere minutes.

Well if there is any cruiser talk on here I'll be all over it like a bad
rash. I've been a long time poster on the Delphi Road Star Riders Forum and
    love to talk cruisers.

Nah. Not unless they are Overweight Underpowered Euro Esoterica, and
Theo's the only one with a cruiser one of those,

    Zebee
    - whose GT Guzzi isnt the California version so doesn't count, It's
still an OUEE but that goes without saying!

Not from cruiser mounted short arses ....

Glenn, why oh why do they build a bike you can happily sit on all day,
and then put a miniscule tank on it??!! Why is no one selling
aftermarket tanks in the 20-25 litre range? Find one for a carby Nomad
(ie pre 99) and you'll be my friend for life!

    Cheers

I know what you mean, my Roadie has a 20l tank (16l reserve) and on the
highway I can get about 300k's before switching over, but my buddies on the
1100's and 650's don't have near the same range.

    Styling, styling... grrr.

Lots of bikes have small tanks, bods at servo cash registers often
comment about the size of the T's tank. I suppose 25l isn't that common
    these days...

    Zebee
    - 370-380km main tank around town, 400-420 on the highway.

I had a look, and I'll bet Yamaha is kicking themselves that THEY
didn't think of naming the whole bike "V Star 1100 Big Willy". ;-)

    (Cue the "Big Johnson" joke)

For me, the term 'cruisers' conjures up images of Al Pacino dressed ala
Village People and sugary alcoholic drinks for girls...

  16. Tell me about it Goaty. I'm lucky to get 200 outta the proper Road King.
Even had no luck trying to source a damged tank so I could split and widen
it. Frasers (don't tell Big) say they destroy all theirs, even going thru
inside sources with offers of bribes. What's the world coming to!

I actually had to spend money there on Monday...

    3 orings at 47c each.

    I paid by eftpos :)

  18. Had a look at the website and still don't understand where the term
    "metric" cruiser comes from?

    Cheers
