Don't be too surprised when they tell you to take it to a dealer. When mine
did a similar thing the dealer replaced it FOC.

I'd take issue with that top item, purely because there's normally a
reason for the battery to be flat.
In my case (on the bike) I apparently had a short through the parking
light (which I only ever used once, accidentally, by turning the key
too far before taking it out) which (and I'm a wee bit hazy on the
    realio trulio causes and effects)
    blew a relay
    which fused the headlight
    which knackered the rectifier
    which shorted the battery
    which flattened the battery
which cost me upwards of £250 squids and then (presumably)
appeared in the top 16.83% (what's with the precision here FFS?) of
    reasons for breakdowns.

All I did was turn the dem key in the ignition......

That's something I ain't going to do again in a hurry (or slowly)

  3. Sorry, my wording wasn't very clear. It has been back to the supplying
dealer for them to look at it each time. I just suggested to them when we
dropped it off once that its behaviour seemed to be caused by a dodgy ECU.
Shame this dealer isn't as willing to replace this unit as your dealer was!

I understood, I was just making the observation that contacting the
manufacturer might not have the desired effect. Worth a try though,
    obviously.
I know, I was somewhat surprised.
