Meta M357T Alarm

I have just had to replace the battery on my motorcycle. Since doing
this, I am unable to get the remote controls for the alarm to work. I
have tried replacing those batteries also but it still does not work.

The alarm itself seems to be working as the immobiliser turns itself
on after the ignition is turned off for a while, but I can only turn
it off again with the manual override.

Does anyone know how I can get the remotes to work again? Do they need
re-schronizing, and if so, how do I do that?

    Thanks

Isn't it something like holding down the button while switching on the
    ignition?

I've just given that ago, but still no luck. I've also tried holding
the button for approx. 30 seconds (with ignition on and off) but still
the same. Thanks for the idea and anymore from anyone will be
    gratefully accepted and tried.

I've tried getting intouch with meta but they haven't got back to me.
(I'm starting to wish I'd bought a Datatool alarm instead!)

Thanks but these are the instructions that came with the alarm. They
are great when things are working OK, but useless if you have any
problems. They must do it on purpose to get more money out of you. (As
    if £300 aint enough)

I had this problem and eventually received the following instructions from
Meta, but it was a struggle. I take no responsibilty if this screws things
    up further ;o)

"It is advisable for the dealer to introduce new remote controls into the
    alarm system.

NB. All remote controls must be pre-coded to the number issued on the orange
card supplied with the alarm. The override pin-code from the card is also
required to access the programming routine.

Please ensure that you have these details before commencing.

1.Disarm the system either by remote control or override code.

2.Within 10s, turn on the ignition 3 times and keep it on (beep on third
    activation)

3.Turn the ignition off within 10s.

4.Enter the override code from the Orange code card.

5.Leave the ignition on when you have entered the fifth digit of the
    override code.

6.The buzzer will confirm the correct entering of the code by the signal
    (bip-bip-bop-bop)

7.Transmit once with the new remote control to be enabled (LED lit on)

8.Transmit a second time with the same remote control for confirmation
    (confirmation beep). If the system emits a ‘boop’, the operation was wrong ;
    repeat the operation.

9.Now the new remote control is enabled and meanwhile, all those previously
stored in the memory are disabled.

    10. Carry out, now, as described above, the double transmission of all other
remote controls to be enabled (including the originals).

    11. Turn the ignition off. The system indicates that the programming is over
    by the signal (bip-bip-bop-bop).

    12. The LED will emit the same number of flashes as the number of remote
    controls enabled."

GUNGA DAN - did you have any problems when trying this? I disarmed the
system with the override code, but can't get any further that that.
There is no confirmation beep after switching on the ignition for the
    third time.

It was a while ago but it was quite a palaver what with having to count how
many times the LED has flashed in between switching the ignition on and off.
I know it took a couple of attempts before managing to go through the whole
process without making a mistake. Are you sure you didn't mis-count the
flashes? If you've managed to dis-arm the immobiliser and the engine starts
then hopefully it's just a case of persevering with the sequence as
described. It makes things much easier if you get a mate to count the LED
    flashes for you.

You've probably got the address for Meta although I'm not sure there are
phone numbers on their web site, so just in case, here it is:

Finally got it sorted!! Thanks to everyone who tried to help and
especially Gunga Dan. The procedure you gave me works perfectly. I
was having problems with it because I didn't realise the ignition kill
switch had to be in the run position. Once I flicked the switch and
    tried again it worked fine.

    Many thanks once again.

Why would your kill switch be in any other position? It's only there to
switch off the engine in an emergency, when I got my Tiger I was advised
not to use it as routine because it could mess up the engine management
    'puter.
