Went to see the first promotional game at old Wembley a few years back as I
liked watching the game on tele (the old Channel 4 programme was excellent).
However, watching live provides a sudden realisation that if a prime concept
of the game is to disguise where the ball is from the opposition guy 6 feet
in front of you, then following the ball from 100 yards away in the stands
you've got fcuk-all chance. Its just a mass of players running in different
    directions play after play.

If you're going tomorrow take a good pair on binos.

  2. I have not seen it live but from hearing others who have I get the
impression that to watch merkin footy you can only do it on the telebox,
that is the way the visual aspect of the game has evolved. To the
players it is identical in every respect to league rugby as somewhere to
have a fight on a saturday and in terms of the live spectators just like
cricket in that it is the partying between the plays and the general
flow of the battle on the field that is the whole point of it.

Is it not on the telebox?

  3. Well of course although I should point out that there are certain
factual errors in your statement as I am not yet superannuated[1].

[1] To my delight I found out the other day that one of my pensions pays
out when I am 60. I have yet to decide whether to roll it over for 5
years or not though, I think I might see how healthy I feel nearer the
day. At the moment I am considering taking the money.
