    I can't remember the registration numbers of any of my bikes (even the
    current ones) let alone mileage when I bought or sold them.

    But you have all the tax discs from them as a reminder. I used to note
    mine on the inside covers and fly sheets of "Tuning for Speed". Running
    a bit short of space, but I must bring it up to date (in v. small
    writing).

    I have to mentally flush old registrations out of my memory, or I'll
    come out with an old one at an inopportune moment.

    I do the same with old house postcodes and telephone numbers.

  13. I use old vehicles and their reg numbers as passwords for a lot of
    stuff. It make for confusion sometimes.
