Mena Arkansas ride for October

Comparison with the last ride to Mena. We arrived in New Boston about
noon..That is just west of Texarkana, a few miles..

Just an idea.. and it is spontaneous. in response to your post.. haven't
talked to anyone about it, yet.. If you seriously would like to join in on
this ride, I'll offer to meet you somewhere around Longview, Marshall area..
I can't speak for anyone else, but right off the top of my head, I can't
think of anywhere else that would be on your route..

On the last run to Mena, Morgan Kane rode up from your area, and joined us
in Mena.. He made the run from Houston solo.. Morgan Kane had to leave just
a bit early so he could join his wife in Lake Charles, so he spent most of
his trip riding solo.. As much as we enjoyed his company and riding with
him, I felt pretty bad for him making all those miles by himself..

hmmm.. Your situation is very understandable to me.. I made that last ride
to Mena, under some difficult personal conditions.. which may be similar to
yours..

That being said.. how about another idea that occurred to me after I talked
to Redshad this morning.. From New Boston, Mena is only about one and a half
hours .. translates to about 75 miles.. Consider hauling the motorcycle to
Texarkana the night before and then resting.. Meet us in New Boston, the
following day and finishing the ride to Mena..

Your thoughts about making the ride and meeting some of us, is considerate
of you.. but it sort of makes my idea of meeting you in the
Marshall/Longview area.. wouldn't accomplish much.. lol.. Unless, of
course. you believe it would be worth all those miles to just spend a few
minutes with Bill Walker.. <chuckle> Regards

Jerry,
Load that motorcycle up on a trailer and you and momma come on to Mena. Hell
I aint shy at all about putting mine on a trailer. I always trailered mine
up until Bill Walker tricked me into spending 5000 dollars on a bunch of
accessories for mine like a windsheild and floorboards and a bunch of other
stuff that caused me to damn near half to file chapter 19. Thanks to Bill I
now have 8000 dollars invested in a 3000 dollar bike. Damn Bill Walker..you
have to watch that fellow at all times. It would be better also for you to
trailer up so that way you will be fresh and you can ride the Talimena Senic
Highway http://www.talimenascenicdrive.com/ or go on the ride we have
planned for Saturday morning. It will be a little over 300 miles.

I can't really see it. I'd be waiting for two days for anyone to show up in
Mena.
How's about meeting up in Tucson later?

 

That's bullshit.. That ol' Hot Rod Harley can't haul enough motor oil to
run like that.. Anyway.. it's too damned hot in Arizona.. and it is raining
at Yellowstone.. rotfl..

You can head west on Sunday after we do Mena, don'cha know.. See you early
Friday morning.. Don't start no shit and there won't be none... Regards
