Hoddle Street has a nice big wide bus and bicycle lane only on the far left,
heading from Clifton Hill to Victoria St.
Can motorcycles travel in this legally?
I do anyway, is far quicker and less nerve racking than lane splitting.

What is it with Hoddle st that makes cars want to spend more time moving
    sideways/lanechanging than moving forward???

Motorcycles not allowed, but your CT-110 should be just fine.

I've travelled it once when i stayed at my brother's place overnight.
I saw the lane and thought "shit, how's this for good luck" and
travelled the length of it but for two vehicles stopped in the lane: a
police car and the car the cop was booking. The cop eyeballed me as I
indicated around him, and it wasn't until I turned off at Victoria
Street that I saw the bus lane sign prohibiting vehicles from using
the lane between 7am and 9am.

I used it and wasn't booked. So based on my one-time experience, go
    for it.
That is what is called serious gridlock. Try moving on the Monash
    Freeway during peak.

  4. On Hoddle St??? Long memories... its to avoid giving them time to take
aim properly - moving targets are harder to hit...

    ;-)

(Is anyone _else_ singing "Accidently Hoddle St" by Peril right now? No?
    I didn't _really_ expect anyone to I guess ;-)

I leave work in the CDB at 5pm. Three traffic-lights and 20 minutes later,
    I'm home and opening a home-brew, 20km from a capital city.

    And I can't lane-spilt, because I'm in the car.

I never said I worked in a capital city, just that home was 500km from
    one (the nearest one) :)

  10. I leave work at 5pm, and 20 seconds later I'm home and opening a brew.

Can't lane split because I'm not in a car or on a bike, and it is only one
    lane
up the spiral staircase from the office to home. :)

For 50% of my time, ditto :)

For the other 50% I lanesplit with impunity, because I'm on a pushbike.

One of Julian Knights' victims was a motorcyclist he killed with a single shot
    to the head.

I thought he put several shots into the bikie.
(Although I s'pose only one actually "killed" him)
