Erm, hasn't this already been done last month by the VACC's motorcycling
forum? And wasn't VMAC invited to the VACC forum? And hasn't VACC already
come up with a heap of sensible/nonsensical* recommendations as a result
of the forum? And is VMAC jumping on the bandwagon too late, seeing as the
VACC's forum has already sounded out the motorcycling community's
feelings, and pretty much already gauged the sentiments regarding the
management and development of motorcycling in Victoria?

Erm; I meant that for you to just "wander" all the way from Castlemaine to
Melbourne and back on a cold night was a pretty big effort.....

Why stop there? Maybe they should just asked for a brand new bike for
everyone on their 18th birthday... sheesh.

  11. But at least you have a chance of bouncing off it, unlike wire rope
    barriers.

I think they're certainly safer than WRB, and huge padded bags on
corners isn't really an option. Keep it on the road, and it doesn't
    really matter now, does it...

I believe European experience is that hitting the posts on wire rope
fencing hurts most, followed by hitting the postsx on armco or getting
    caught under it.

Hitting the wire rope itself doesn't factor into it, as very few bike
crashes are head on into the rope, they are along it meaning you hit
    the posts almost immediately.

The Murrundindi Shire (Kinglake, Yea, Mansfield areas) in the past year
or so has gone around installing lots of Armco, not wire rope, on
sections of the Melba Hwy and some other roads... but I note that most
of this new armco has posts set at about the same frequency as WRB
    posts.
