A surprise came in the mail today.

A toll invoice for using Eastlink . . . . in mid February!!

I understood that the arrangements were the same as for Citylink (ie nil for motorcycles) . . .

They took over three months to send the bill - $9.37 - which includes $6.33 of invoicing fees, etc . . .

    Thank goodness I have hardly ever used it . . . .

Anyone else just been stung too?

Eastlink DO toll bikes, it's always been the case.
    Citylink do not.

Seems like they put forward facing cameras on Eastlink specifically to capture motorcyclists - and charge us half of a car rate.

We are supposed to have opened an Eastlink acct to cater for such billing, but no need for a gadget (they trust them cameras!).

I pity any poor bugger who didn't realise this and has used the facility daily - just as we have used the other Melbourne toll roads!!
Three and a half months is a loooong time to wait before sending an invoice. ~$1,000 by my calculation!!

Now, can I be bothered or shall I just keep off the damn thing . . .

    Regards,

    Wake up....................
Even though I think that knobless is a fool and narcissistic
I agree with what he said that there might be quite a few World Super Bike
visitors who don't realise that there is a toll on the Eastlink freeway

Only Melbourne riders would know for sure whether bikes get charged a toll
or not and even then, some wouldn't
Other riders from Interstate or even Intrastate, knowing that there is no
toll on the Citylink Freeway, would think that it also applied to Eastlink.

The toll on Eastlink for motorcycles, is not that well known outside of
    locals who might use it.

I live in country Victoria and I wasn't aware until fairly recently that
    motorbikes were tolled on Eastlink.

I wasn't aware until even more recently that buying a city link day pass
doesn't cover a vehicle on East Link.

I could understand if they had a different pass to cover both areas and
charged extra to cover the extra roads but having to visit 2 shops to
get 2 different passes is a pain in the arse.

  14. What I meant was in reply to a past reply, which said that SuperBike
visitors might get a fine or account for a toll which they knew nothing
    about

mate, if you want to ride on a toll road for 3 and 1/2 months without
checking if you are being tolled, it is your own stupid fault for
    getting the bill...

once is fair enough, 3 and 1/2 months, STUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPID

Why don't you read the post properly ??

The poster said it took 3 1/2 months for the charge to get to him, not that
he had been riding for 3 1/2 months on the road
He was complaining about the length of time it took to get to him

buts it not insufficiently sighed, its a toll road, the fees for MC
are in the same location as for every other user.

the fault is with the people that thought it was free
