  1. ~~~~~~~~The common good can be provided for at the local level once
    people don't have 50%+ of their earnings confiscated each year (more
    when you consider the layers of taxation rolled into the price of each
    product on the shelves).
    Think of the released wealth the economy would have if everyone got a
    100% (or more) increase in pay over night while their goods and services
    dropped in price by 50%! Freedom is an exciting concept. Some people
    fear it.
    Next question.

    your point is understandable.....when you §ay 50%plus above, my my,
    you must be in the higher of high, income Bracket..
    I think, most of us common folks are in the 15%+ bracket, so when you
    imply that most americans are experiencing another 35% along the way, to
    take care of their families etc......man...I don't know about
    that.....in essence.

    Look beyond the end of your nose. Taxes are cumulative. DO you really
    think the cost of that 25 cent loaf is bread is based solely on the
    cost to grow, harvest and process the materials and pay the wages of
    those doing that work? Look at ALL the taxes you pay; not just the
    obvious income taxes. The cumulative total is high enough that my 50%
    claim was probably conservative.

  4. Your just thinking of Income Tax. Add sales tax, all the gas taxes, taxes to
    all the food services, don't forget the deeds and property tax (apartment
    renters add in that cost too) and everything else you purchase you may well
    see 50%.
    BTW a current bill filed by the legislation would include State Income Tax.

  7. ~~~~someone else said this:....Without compensation? Look around. We
    live in the best country in the world, and all the things we take for
    granted cost money.
    ~~~~~~~~~~not sure who?~~~~~~~
    The point is that the things we purchase and take for granted are not
    the same thing as those which others purchase with funds confiscated
    from our labor without choice and under threat of death or serious
    punishment. ~~MarkJohnson
    First at the top, it appears that I wrote all this...don't want folks to
    think that, not that there's anything wrong with that!!!(Seinfeld
    quote)(Grin)
    <>Yes, that's exactly what I thought a loaf of bread cost, except, you
    left out insurances etc.....but that's neither here or there, We 15%+
    bracket common folks, don't experience another 35%...to add up to
    50%......it just ain'† †ha† wa¥.! Mark, I'm too old, to not
    realize Taxes can accumalate...of course.....but not like you tell
    it......some of those taxes can be self governed....Don't buy shit, if
    you dont have the cash, don't use credit cards, don't buy new vehicles,
    motorcyles, and lots of other big dollar stuff, AND have to PAY that
    sales Tax.....the last Bike I bought I saved $300, on sales tax...cause
    I didnt buy it from a dealer.....how about that. Go to Estate Sales,
    learn to be thrifty...on and on.....(but, youngens have trouble with
    waiting and saving)
    Yeah, and here's an idea: Why don't you continue to sit on your fat ass and
    not support groups trying to eliminate and reduce tax? Why don't you sit in
    your comfy home and shine your guns while the big boys go out and keep Texas
    from becoming another "State Income Tax" populace?
    Don't worry, we'll continue to support your welfare programs that you
    continue to enjoy and sponge off of. We'll make sure that you're able to
    keep a pistol...even though you might have to pay income taxes to the state.
