    Hi All

Can anyone recommend a good motorcycle mechanic in Southend-on-Sea Essex
area, someone that is not too expensive... but fair.

    TIA.

no special technologies then, you can go pretty much anywhere. What is
    wrong with it?

Oops sorry I'm on a different computer, on my lappy coz my back has given
out... again, it's me David Thomas

It's that starting problem, have had it looked at twice, cost me a fortune
and am no nearer getting it fixed.

Looking for someone that can diagnose the problem and give me a price to fix
    it ideally.

So far I have only been told it could be anything... wits end is real near.

Can't use the bike because it lets me down.

Have you asked in Sopers? They do a few odd bits round the back but
they also know everybody in the area.

It seems like it is flooding on starting, when cold you have to shut the
choke off quick and hot you have to give it loads of revs.

My last Bandit started on the button and this definatley ain't right, not
sure if it's electrical or fuel and have no way of dealing with it myself...
back is too bad at the moment.
Have had it looked at locally, don't know if it's me but can't seem to find
anyone to fix it, even various Suzuki main dealers say it could be lots of
    things... I bloody know that!

Which means you are either going to suffer back pain while you sort it
or wallet pain while someone else sorts it.

Vines have a large workshop in Rayleigh.

I'll have to go for the wallett pain, my next back operation is not due till
the spring... so better look after it for a while.

Work carried out so far without a hint of difference; valve clearance, carb
balance, idle mixture adjustment, plugs and air filter.

Give it a week you'll probably see me breaking it on ebay !

That pretty much only leaves the coils or the ignition gubbins or
    something wholly obscure then.

I'll give you a tenner for it.

The choke lever on the carb (the bit at the end of the choke cable) can
sometimes stick open slightly, which causes those symptoms

I would have thought that they would have carried out a copression test on
it to make sure that was ok to start with, and then some sort of diagnostic
test ignition and fuel system, rather than say it could be this or that :-/

But then again I'm no mechanic so I wonder where I can take it to actually
have the test carried out, as I say I have phone main dealers and they all
say they have no diagnostic equipment.

Seems to me I could spend many hundreds of pounds having bits replace and
    still not find the problem.

    Suggestions welcome?
