Would appreciate an opinion........ I have owned since new a Kawasaki 1989
GPX600r but it is getting a bit hard to maintain and keep in a pristine
condition i would like so want to purchase new bike..

Have been through the bikes and am just considering a Suzuki GSX750R.. they
are 9+ thou AUD on special and if i compare to similar models with
Kawasaki..Yamaha.. Triumph or Ducati etc they are all 4 or 5 Thousand more
expensive... Is there a reason? ie you gets wat yous pay for???

I have read the googled the reviews and most of them are obviously very
    biased but hard to compare

I am not into extreme supersports models as I am 52 years old and creak all
over after a couple of hours in the saddle.. but this bike appeals as it is
comfortable..has power enough for me..and my needs

But the diff in price is significant..Is it because Suzuki has a worse rep
    then the other Jap bikes?

    Would appreciate some rider/owner info..

  2. Forget about the GSXR.

While it is a fantastic RaceRep bike its more a bike for hooning.

Find yourself a GSXF750. This is the Touring Version with a Enigine
De-tuned and the Tourque spread out a bit more. Better ergonomics for us
    old farts. ;)

  5. BTW I forgot to ment the GSXF750's engines are bullet proof as well.

But one thing to check are the vibes. Some people have complained of
buzzing vibes through the pegs at 7000rpm. I've never felt them myself in
the one's I've ridden, but I did notice that the peak power is higher than
other tourers, but still nowhere near sportsbike levels.

The only reason I never bought one was because I'm a bargearse and needed a
biger capacity bike to go 2 up.

Bandit is another consideration as well they are quite cheap.

Hi I own a GSX750F 2003 model and ride it to work most days and it's a great
commute bike. I am finding it a little heavy though, so I may look at
selling it soon for something a little lighter. If your strong enough to
deal with the weight then go for it.

I've ridden it around Tassie and it was great as a touring bike as well. I
am not sure about how it matches up price wise against similar sports
tourers but I would recomment it to anyone.

    Cheers,

    El.

    How big/strong are you?
I'm looking at upgrading soon, The 250 is just too small, light and slow.
I'm a semi athletic (semi because I was fit but gave it all away for beer
and chocolate :) 6'2" and a shade under 100kg. I'd like a sports bike but
not sure if I'll fit on one comfortably. The GSX600F has made the short list
    so far.

i noticed dry weight of GSX750f is 211 kg.. GSXR750 is only 165kg...pobably
    a whole heap of plastic..my old Kawasaki GPX600r is only 185 kg...really
thought they would lighten bikes with better products and technology
    Maybe not..
had a 95 YAMAHA XV1100 and noticed they are 231kg and i used to have a
struggle sometimes moving it around.. but thought it was just the design of
    the bike

Although looking at the specs, 211kg dry weight. That is horrendous.
The VTR1000 is at the top of the list this week...

Well thank you all.. Got the GSX750F today...apart from being about 30kg
heavier then my current bike i think i will manage...and if not might be a
rarely used low km bike on the market soon..

    Thanks for all your help
