sorry to dash your fond memories against the craggy rocks of realirt,
but Watership Down was a poorly executed joke.

I still think someone should open up a fast-food joint called "Doner
    Party Kebabs".

Yeah - just when you think it can't get any worse, it does. Great
    book, my favourite Hardy.

    <snip Owen's list>

Ha - I don't read headers much. I was just going down this list and
thought, "Hmm, Owen's got this. Ooh, I've got that. Ha - I gave that
to Owen. What a co-incidence." Then I saw who wrote it. Doh!

How many other ukrm pairs are there here? Lucretia and AJ, Will and
    Power Grainger ... any more?

talking about when they were comparing and contrasting the films and
    the books.

    14, and then move on.

I was lent a copy of Northern Lights last night, with the other two to
follow. Then after that I'm reading the sequel to Noughts and Crosses,
which apparently isn't out until February.

****! I find myself in agreement with Des. Although at least I'm not
so sad as to have counted how many times I've read it.

And I probably will watch the other two parts of the film, but not at
the cinema. I hate cinemas, they're too loud, too big.

I was almost tempted to buy the first one complete with an extra 30
minutes of edited-out stuff, just to see if it filled up the glaring
gaps they'd left in the plot, but decided that 45 euros was just
    taking the piss.

He likes the parts he's in, where he talks about those nasty hobitses,
and not wanting to be in their cliques.

What? You mad fool - cinemas rock and some films just have to be seen there.

Plus, of course, they sell lovely salted popcorn, swimming in butter.

    there.

It's not the load and big bit - it's the fact that the other people
there never just sit still, remain quiet and just watch the fucking
film. They're up and down like a whore's drawers. FFS, get your
food and have a piss before the film starts[1].
You can do that in the microwave at home.

[1] When I went to see Gangs of New York, one bloke must have got
up for food/piss/take a phone call five or six times, causing the
whole of the row to get up to let him through every time he went
    and came back.
