Statto has left me a little special something [1]. Pair of H rated BT45s
are £160, whereas a pair of Maxxis are £45.

    Opinions?

    [1] More on this tomorrow.

    This for the Guzzi?
Maxxis work very, very well on Guzzis. Well worth trying. You may even GYKD
(but you 'd probably be on yer arse soon afterwards).
Bargain for the money. Much better grip than BT45s.
Ask Lozzo. He knows these tyre well iirc.

Surely the originals would be okay with a bit of air in them? The Maxxises
are probably orders of magnitude better than anything the old heap has worn
    previously.
....after the cloud of rust has dispersed.

Lozzo clued me into these, I fitted a pair of Maxxis' finest cheapest
tires to my buddy's SR500 and I can confirm that they do indeed stick
"like shit to a blanket". What's the worst that could happen?

Depends which Maxxis tyres they are?

I had Barracudas on my CB250RS and they were superb, the replacement
Hi-Maxs weren't as good but still ok in the dry, but awful in the wet.
Hi-Maxes had a tread pattern similar to a Dunlop Arrowmax on the rear
and similar to a Metzeler ME33 up front.

    C906 and C907 - I suspect they're Hi-Max.

    I'm after 100/90H-19 front and 120/90H-18 rear.

Those are HiMaxes. They aren't as terrible overall as some would have
you believe, but there are better Maxxis tyres available in the smaller
sizes. I just didn't like them in the wet, dry they were ok.
Barracudas are available in those sizes, you'll be wanting the C915
rear and C926 fronts, they rock. Wet weather grip is amazing.

Rear's just legal, front tread is not too bad but needs a new tube and
has been stood with no air for a while.

I was going to say, I wouldn't put barracudas on the Turbo, it would
rip them to shreds. Something like a CX500 or your Guzzi would be fine
    with them on.

Guzzi wears out BT45s in fairly short order - front and rear dead in 4000
(fronts go to about 5000 in reality).

I can get a pair of Barracudas, tubes and postage for ?80 from M&P.
They're for something else, only need to be H rated.

You don't even need H rated tyres if the fucker's sat by the side of
    the road broken down.

These tyres would be for that nice piece of modern machinery you're
planning to use on the next overseas raid?

I'm pretty sure I've seen you wheelie the bike in question and it
spewed out a big cloud of black smoke in protest.

If it's the bike I'm thinking of they'll be fine on it.

Possibly. Needs to go on some reliability trials first.

    Needs to start before that.

  20. What did Kenda morph into? Is it them that are now Maxxis?
