What's *really* horrifying is that I hadn't the faintest idea there was
any difference in the number of speedblocks. I just picked an obscure
detail and (as I thought) made it up.

clearly definably posting style or theme that would mark you out - apart
from mentioning the Underground.

Anotyher sad but true fact, I can still recite certain part numbers for
obscure RD400 bits that are no longer available. I learned them so I
could easily identify the parts I needed without having to lug a parts
book around with me on my travels. If you've got a brand new 2R9 14710-0
sitting around, you'll get about 600 quid for it on eBay.
