Mastercard are idiots

  1. Just seen on Channel 4: the MasterCard ad where it quotes different air
fares from all over the world. Shot at some empty airport, with people all
reuniting merrily. "Being together at Christmas: priceless." Right.

Bleeding impossible, this year, for some - and what pillock didn't pull that
particular commercial for the time being?

  3. Getting thicker again here. Himself went aircraft watching today. Ended up
at Southampton and Bournemouth, where he could see some sky.

Not bad at all as I drove home from close to B'ham airport round to the
    other side of the city

  6. Hm. I didn't know that Cardiff was in the South East. Or Norwich. And, you
didn't know that C4's advertising is regional?

Driving down the M6 this morning it was hard to believe the stories of
how thick the fog is but it changed from bright sunshine to manky fog
between the end of the toll road and Coventry.

Lovely in Plymouth this morning. Not so nice at Bristol airport. Checked
website, everything was leaving on time, so went for it. Flight cancelled
3 hours after we checked in, and am back in Plymouth with clear skies.

Still better than some. Some flight from a place I've never heard of was
still "holding overhead" at 13:30 when it was due in a 08:00. Eventually
it got diverted to Brum. Poor buggers.

This is the notoriously manky Lulsgate, yes? That the USAF used for
crap-weather training, and where the fog is sometimes too thick even for
taxying? And they cancelled your flight?

Yup, same here, checked website, all ok, flight still on the board.
Pitched up for my flight, but the plane is stuck in Southampton.

N.I. and Gatwick are clear, but no plane.

Roll on 05:30 and I can do it all over again :-/

    Cheers,

    Paul.

Well you say that, and I've heard that Bristol Airport is notorious for
fog, but after many years of using it, this is the first time I've seen
any there. Plus it had been fine up until Friday. And 2 EasyJet flights
    managed to leave.
