    I think this is a very important point. By the nature of the event the
    organisers must have been aware that there would have been inexperienced
    riders involved and prepared accordingly.

    I was staying at Port Erin at the time, although I wasn't actually present
    for this. I was surprised at the choice of course: there's very little
    run off and it's not straight. Contrast it with Ramsey, where there's
    grass either side and another couple of hundred metres of straight road at
    the end of the course.

    I'm not about to say that the clerk of the course is guilty or should even
    be prosecuted, but the event certainly warrants close examination.
