You forgot the 'knobbers corner' moment.

We were standing around in the pits talking, I could hear
these guys trying to start a race bike on a set of rollers , but
they were having no success at all. Not even trying to fire.
I glanced round and took the scene in, then started grinning
and told the others to take a look. The knobber trying to
start the bike, had the rollers on backwards and was
furiously revving the **** out of them, turning the back
wheel of the bike *backwards*. Champ wandered over to
them and pointed out the error of their ways (I personally
would have waited a minute or so longer ;-). They apparently
weren't best pleased. But then to compound it all, rather than
simply taking the rollers round the other side of the bike and
starting again. The rider decided to do a 20 point turn on the
bike to get it facing the 'right' way. My, how we laughed.

Platy had to help when I was attempting a three point turn in said van,
two of us swinging on the steering wheel to get it to turn. Imagine me
and Platy as Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock in "Speed III: This Time
    its Imbecilic".

    "Petrol goes in here".

    "Can you explain that again?"

    Steve broke the generator.

    We were worried.

I was quite pleased with Cheltenham - Brighton in 2 hours. I'm watching
    the post with interest.

I think it'll be pretty competitive judging by the way it was motoring
and keeping the larger, machines at bay once you'd got in the rhythm.

Steve did not broke the generator. It was already broked by Champs when
    I arrived.

    It could have been Sir.

I was sort of standing there taking in the moment, like you do and he
started doing what for all the world looked like a Bee Dance with an
extension cord and the generator started visibly disintegrating from
    there on really.

Getting it round the back on my own was fun, too. I had a pulled muscle in
my back by the end of the day, but I'm not sure if it was the van or heaving
    the sidecar chassis around.
Better than Brighton - Avebury in two hours, then? I assume you took the
    motorway.

I once did Thornbury - Brighton on the Trophy in 2:15, and I wasn't sitting
about. It's 180 miles from Thornbury, so probably about 170 from
    Cheltenham.

Mostly; I started off using the A40 but my new headlamp is crap, it's
only usable at speed on main beam. It needs adjusting but the 'tick'
isn't clean; all a bit fuzzy.

....and I discovered that I'd forgotten, again, to do something about the
    speedo lamp.

    It was about 160.

Brighton-Avebury in 2 hours on proper roads and in the rush hour on an
unfaired tractor still makes me smile.

The A40 is shit. You should have taken the A435 down to Cirencester, then
the A419 to Swindon, then M4 etc.
I've finally done something about that bodged H4 in the Z200. It was nice
and bright, but the beam pattern was all over the shop. I've reinstated the
original bulb-holder, made good all the pre-existing bodging and fitted the
correct bulb. Except it's the halogen version, which is lovely.
Don't ever let anybody tell you you're sane.
