Just bought some cb360 forks from the USA.
How long does stuff take to arrive from 'over there'?
Im pleased; 1976 cb360 has exactly the same part numbers so I can
service the new forks etc and just replace the old ones :)

  2. Well, it would have the same part numbers for things like forks.

Why on earth did you buy them from the USA, though, when they're so
    easily available and cheap here?

Sorry I was referring to the forks...
    Impatience?
I've kept my eye on e-bay and not found any and places I've rang have
had ones that sounded pretty rough.
    So: 110358463563 £90 shipped

  4. You *do* know that exactly the same forks were used on the CB250G5,
CJ250, CJ360 (those two had black-painted lowers) and also the 400 Four
(albeit with revised - better - internal damping)?

There's plenty out there. That said, £90 isn't a bad price.

IME it's not that bad - I'd given it a couple of weeks if the seller has
    sent them by airmail.

If it's a ground shipment, I wouldn't bank on getting it in time for
    this summer.

Why do you imagine the part numbers might have been different?

Aw shucks. Here's me being all familiar. :)
    They're for a 400 four I have.

  9. Yes, indeed. The damping rods should just bolt straight in, so you'd be
able to uprate your 360 forks simply by picking up a pair of utterly
shagged (but straight) 400F forks. Maybe a tenner?
Troo. It all depends on how long they take to arrive now :)

  10. On something like basic forks, no. But you'd be surprised on many
components: completely interchangeable, but some silly little thing like
the inclusion of an extra tiny lug (for some markets) will give a
    component a different part number.

In little bites and nibbles of the wallet these cheap old bikes turn
into rideable but expensive cheap old bikes........
Hmmm. I've emailed the feller to see how he's sending them.
Could have done that straight away but then I wouldn't have had to tell
    anyone :D

  16. IIRC there's no such thing as surface mail from the US any more. Everything
is airmail, or courier. Unless it's something really big...

Thus spake Austin Shackles () unto the assembled multitudes:
Since when? I've had stuff from a friend in the US and they were sent by
surface mail, but that was at least a couple of years ago.

This appears to be true for the USPS at least.
In any event its been sent via 'priority international'
    I have a tracking number too :)
So I can see when it disappears into the UK parcel/tax/waste recycling
    system :)
