Most of the roundabouts I use on my daily commute are traffic-light
controlled, and it's where I see most of the RLJs!

Sometimes at one particular local roundybout, the plod come along to catch
such a person. They generally don't get a chance to get the donuts out
    before someone jumps the lights.

Sheer fantasy on your part. What do you think the *amber* light is for?

Apparently if you have 'banked' points in Germany they don't vanish
after a set period of time, you have to actually get a German licence
and then the four years (or whatever it is over there) start and
eventually you either get banned for having too many points or you
    have a clean licence.

The obvious worry for certain people is that eventually they'll have
too many points in the bank and the next time they get stopped by
German plod they'll be sitting in a cell until they can appear in
court and they'll not be driving home.

Hmm multiple licences could be a good plan

But you can equally argue that a ban is no use if the criminal has no
intention of complying with it, or even that fines are no use if the
    criminal is rich.

The penalty is applied in the defined manner. The objection that you
can't apply the penalty to someone without a licence is simply not
true. Whether the criminal in question finds the penalty to be a
hardship of greater or lesser degree is a different question.

Does that not apply to a European licence?
I'm not going to Germany again:)

Bugger. Speaking of which, don't suppose you know what's happened to BGN
    lately?

    And as an aside.....

After I rang Bike mag to tell them our proper phone number (not changed by
directory inquiries) we got a call from a reader who'd read about the TS.
We've now got a well fucked Ducati, owned, used and abused by the owner from
new, coming in for a refurb after seeing it on Saturday and discussion
    costs.

Odd though, the bloke wants it changing from a red based scheme to the same
in blue, so what was the name of the graphics company you used for the
decals on the TS. It wasn't Sunshine" was it?

Seeing as an amber light actually means STOP, I suggest that Mr Auvache is
absolutely correct. And there's certainly no "X seconds grace" when there's
a red light cam on the job. They activate the instant the light turns red.
As the saying goes.... If the cap fits..

I read his post about 10 seconds ago and responded like you. Are we the only
ones on here who were taught that the amber light means stop?

  16. Immersed in WoW, I believe.
    Nice. Where's my commission?
    Sunrise Graphics.

Be warned, the bod doesn't believe in the interwebthingy much and so his
model list is well out of date, and he prefers a phone call.

No. Sheer fantasy on the part of the RAC.

That was what the _R_A_C_ decided to do. The _R_A_C_ decided they
would only count a car as having jumped the red light if it went
through several seconds after the light changed.

There is no fantasy on David's part involved.

Ok. They're fucking Timo about they are. He's been tring to get a set of
decals for a Nongda and they've been "sent" twice so far I believe. I've yet
    to see them though.
Yeah, Timo's ringing again either today or tomorrow.

    Cheers Neil

I'm not going to argue that point, but either I live in an area of
outstanding natural law abidement(tm), orI drive/ride wearing rose tinted
specs, coz red light jumping (as opposed to "just" making it) isn't
    something I see.

It's a good job the RAC don't get to impose fines then or they'd be stony
    broke.
Or rather not a huge amount.
