Made to measure leathers

Tried on an Alpinestars one piece SX-1 suit today and it felt really
nice. However, when spending the thick end of £850 on half a cow, I
figured made to measure might be worth a look.

I've just spoken to Hideout and they can do me some for about the same
money. IIRC isn't there someone on here that works for MJK and if so
what's the score on getting a UKRM discount!?

That was my original subject line but I figured there were plenty more
on here with opinions so I changed it.)

Graham Falcke runs GLF Accessories, and they're the UK agent for MJK.
He gives a standard 10% dicount to UKRM; he also does a racer
discount, tho I think you may struggle to get both.

For that sort of budget you should definitely be able to get a race
spec made-to-measure MJK suit. Mine is bloody superb - it's survived
(and I in it) two serious crashes, and 2~3 silly ones, and only needed
some small repairs. It's also very comfortable, and allows a lot of
    movement on the bike.

For the sort of money you're talking about, I wouldn't even consider
    off the peg.

she'll happily help measure your inside leg...

Hideout leathers are just up the road from me. And they are _expensive!!_
    Great quality though ILTB.
If you're coming over or need them collected drop me a mail, if I can help.

To be fair, although I agree the MJK stuff looks great, you can buy HG's
top race suit for half that money. Mine is *excellent* quality and
survived remarkably well. By chance it fitted well. I would say Daz is
about the right shape for their tailoring.

MJK avoids all the silly graphics etc. though.

Ruth with the 996? She's a mate of yours? I like her, she's ok.

What Champ said. I really rate MJK Leathers. I bought mine after seeing
how many people walked away unhurt from major offs at KRC meets.

I agree, they are brilliant *1. Mine are now about two sizes too big for in
some places and two size too small for me in others.

*1 I have the scuff marks, lots of them.

My MJKs were made-to-measure, and less than that. They fit well, are
comfy and the armour a certain Mr. Lozzo recommended worked a treat[1].
    I'm chuffed with mine.

The only downside is that there were a couple of loose threads. I
can't find any other fault with them.

[1] lowspeed lowside onto my hip - not even a bruise.

She's never mentioned them, but I should imagine they're cute. I
couldn't believe her age when I was told, she looks about 15 years
    younger than she really is.

    I've heard similar.
But since I've never used them, and prolly never will[1]. I didn't say
    anything.

[1] TBH I really can't justify the cost with the style of riding I do now.
Maybe if I were racing etc then I could see their value.

Pff, you want expensive and great quality, there is only one.

    BKS.

You'll need a lorry for the cash though.

And a fucking great trailer with a high load rating to take them away.
A bit too thick and heavy for my tastes.

The only leathers known to man with which a stiffer suspension setup is
needed. No doubt BKS would supply one....at a similarly inflated cost.

No idea but my suit is coming up to being 4 years old and I've got no
complaints, other than the heaviness/lack of stretch thing Loz mentions.
But in fairness they did ask if I wanted them stretchy - I said no.

Also on the Strom it makes no diference at all due to the different riding
    position.

I've crashed in them once, just a slight scuff, other than that still
flawless after *thinks* approx 30k miles?

Same here - made to measure MJK trousers. Very chuffed.

Yep that's about right. A couple of local riders I know had problems with
    them.
1 girl in particular had a real issue with size of the trousers, as she is
very short. They never did get them right to her satisfaction.
Turn the lights to the podium on! ;o)
