M8 thread pitch (Honda).

    Crankcase bolts, engine mounting bolts, yolk clamp bolts etc etc etc.

    They're all the same pitch - which is different to the pitch stocked by
    hardware stores.

    Normal thread pitch for M8 is 1.25, fine is 1.0.

    It *should* be one of those.

    Whereabouts are you? I have thread gauges you can borrow if necessary.

    I just remembered - I have a metric tap & die set that didn't get put in the
    shed to go rusty, since the numbers on the taps are still readable I can use
    the taps as pitch gauges.

    Yes, but you can get coarse, standard, fine and superfine threads innit.
