M4 GATSO?

Anyone heard owt about this one?

I'm being told there's a new GATSO on the M4 westbound on the second
gantry after the sliproad on from the M25.

This is a stretch where I customarily do the kind of speed that would
have me trying to avoid dropping the soap if there was a live camera
there...

 

Why? it's the only sex you are going to get in there.

 

I think I have been through this one about 4 times doign 90+ and I havent
got done yet - eventually I will remember that its there - hopefully before
they activate it.

 

Having been for a look myself, it seems there is indeed a camera mounted
over the middle lane on the second gantry after the slip road from the
M25 into the M4 westbound.

Maybe it's new, or maybe I'd never noticed it before, but that whole
gantry is fitted with signs for the variable speed limit, and there
are markings in place on the road underneath.

No signs up though, so my guess is that it's not in use just yet. If/when
then it'd presumably be subject to the same rules as the others in the
variable limit (ie. ACPO 10%+2 or 96mph, iirc)
