And I love Italy. Sure it's corrupt, lurches from political crisis to
crisis but at least they still enjoy life there.

WTF are you on about there? only the awkward squad were against war. I'll
bet a national vote (1) would have been 75% for. Probably about the same as
would vote against the Euro. As for that Euro it seems to me they are
acknowledging overwhelming public feelings but saving the cost of a wasted
    referendum.

    (1) which should have excluded any fucking Turban wearers (2) entering
    polling booths
    (2) Despite the fact that I like a lot of what they believe in

Well... I don't agree it would have been 75%. Most people would have
been too apathetic to vote so it would only have been the people who
    felt strongly.

The police estimated that 750,000 people marched against the war. The
organisers estimated two million. In either case it was a very large
turn out, the largest ever in the UK.

I think a vote would have gone against the war, not because this was the
will of the population but because the anti-lobby would have been
    organised and there wasn't a pro-lobby.

Regarding the true national feeling, I don't know. I would suspect it
would be much closer to 50% in favour of the war than 75%.

Why? They're British citizens as much as you or I and have every right
to vote. Even if they have their own agenda are you suggesting that
some of the rest of the electorate didn't have a pre-war agenda? And
anyway... this is very reminiscent of the way the votes were arranged to
get Bush the Unelected into office.

You don't 'claim' copyright, as such, you just get it automatically on
created works. You can lose copyright by not defending it tho. For example,
the chances of me successfully restricting the use of this post would
be minimal, because I've posted it to a medium that guarantees that it
will be copied by a large number of people, and I haven't included a
    copyright notice.

I think you could successfully stop someone passing the 'work' off as
their own, and the copyright notice would be part of that - it's the
first indication that you will be defending it.

It's truly cringe-making, bordering on (for me) frightening.[1]

It's good telly in that most everyone has an opinion on driving standards
and as such it's one of the few things that prompts an emotional respons

As such, I do wonder (and I watched the last series, too) where the ****
    they find these morons.[2]

    There's a myopic old gimmer called Brian who's an ex-copper, apparantly;
there's Nikki the 20-something cake-addict prone to floods of tears at the
slightest thing, good, bad or indifferent; there's the 40-something Doris
(whose name escapes me) from Staffordshire who gets completely fucking
hysterical at the slightest provocation and needs to write "left" and
"right" on the back of her respective hands to tell; there's the
submissive Brazilian chick (and her domineering twat of a husband) who
just doesn't get it at all and there's some daft old tart with big
earrings who is a good all-round fuckwit.

Watch it; it's repeated from Tuesday at ten past five, tonight, C5 --
you'll want to shout at the telly...

Personally, my own view on this is that they should have saved a shedload
of money and just rounded these clueless gibbons up, put 'em in a field
    and napalmed them.

But then, that's just my opinion...

[1] Obviously not hide-behind-the-sofa-Dr.Who-type frightening, the other
    one.
[2] Although the guy[3] that "won" last week could be found just about
    anywhere these days.

[3] "Daz" -- total MaxPower nobber; 200bhp shitbox Nova with GigaWatt
    sound system.
