Happy new year from Canada everyone...

I am getting to really like the sound and feel of the motor on my
83 Shadow 750; with its good primary balance the vibrations are muted
and comfortable at all rpm's. The power and torque are good, even
with the massive windshield I'm using right now (the bike is my
    winter beater*).

The character of each motor that I've experienced has been unique
and pleasurable: the vibes, the roll-on response, the exhaust roar
    when you punch it, etc.

Here are some of my favorites; what are yours, and what is it
    that impresses you about them?

Honda VTX1800 - very pleasing feeling of torque with pulsed "texture"

    Suzuki LS650 - I've always liked thumpers

Suzuki DR250 - Another thumper, this dirt bike felt like it could
pull tree stumps and clear fields

Yamaha VMax - I've never ridden one, but the massive, brute-force
look and the authoritative sound of one passing my van on the hwy
this summer really got my attention

    Harley twin-cam 88 (with 95 kit) - I rode a Harley for the first
time this summer, and within a few seconds of starting it up
I knew I would buy it. The motor was that compelling, more than
    anything else about the bike.

    Hi over there, a.

My winter beater, or winter hack as we call it here is a Honda CG125,
takes a beating it does too, but keeps on going. Vibes vary with its
mood, depending if it needs a service or not. Handling is interesting
with one off road trye on the back, and one road tyre on the front. Anti
lock brakes / speed limiter device fitted.

Winter hack / summer hack is a FZR250RR, now fitted with loud oval race
can. Sounds like a turbo bumble bee, will wheelie, will stoppie, will go
round the outside / inside of most other bikes in a corner. Bit limited
on the straight, but it sounds fast.

Bandit 600, Comes out to play when funds are available, good mile eater,
relaxed, comfy apart from when doing 100+ into a head wind.
