  1. De mountable would be good. I do miss the ability to tie stuff onto the
    back.

Bikes are not dangerous. The people who ride them are.

Cars aren't dangerous either, unless they have a driver behind the
wheel. You can't say the bike is dangerous, because it's not going to
jump up and attack you as you walk by, or decide off its own back to
spit you off. It takes a rider or driver to crash a vehicle, so neither
cars nor bikes are dangerous on their own.

Vulnerable isn't the same as dangerous.

  6. I've got the Yamaha rack on mine, it's not that large and was IIRC
~£50 which is a bit of a con.
If you're solo then a soft rucksack for a change of clothes, washing
stuff etc. If there's anything hard or breakable then wrap it in your
clothes, if you do bounce onto something it could cause injury. I
broke a mobile and dented my ribs a treat at ~10mph by failing to stay
upright. I tend to use rucksack & tankbag when I need the capacity.
Wrap everything in a bin bag, then wrap that bag in another one.
Anything really important stick into a smaller plastic bag (freezer /
    sandwich bag).
There's been incidents with tail packs, bungee well and strap a cargo
    net over the top.

I smacked my old Bandit 600 into a modern car at about 50 mph. The bike
died, but I'm still here. Does that count?
