    Hi,

i think the lucas rita ignition on my 1980 ducati 900ss died.
does anybody knows where i can find the diagram for the rita ignition?
online would be nice, but as long as i can get one i can try to repair the
    unit.

Has anybody got any luck getting the amplifier repaired?

    cheers,
    Hubert

AFAIR, Lucas used to do a check and replace.

They have quite a few branches:

    ">>Hi,
the website seems to be down,
but i am looking for the electrical diagram of the printed circuit board.
i've obviously already got the wiring diagram, as the unit is already on the
    bike.......

the diagram for the pirhana and the original morini ignition is on the web
    http://www.italoclassicbikes.de/downl/fs_downl.htm

i hoped to find the diagram for the lucas.

    cheers,

Indeed it is, just when I needed it...
Just as an aside - the Morini V-twin ignition is a completely different
beast, but then again I assume you already knew that.

i noticed they are different , i've got a couple of them in the shed.
i used the morini just as a example of the type of docs i was looking for.

I dont think we have lucas branches over here (netherlands), i will try TRW,
the parent company, but i doubt they will be very helpfull

    cheers

As far as I know they are not made anymore. Someone in the US is thinking of
making some for Norton Commandos but no idea if the box would be the same,
probably not. They are, however, extremely reliable & most faults are with
the wiring. Particularly the wires from the little coil where the points
would normally be. This is a very low voltage & doesn't need much of a bad
    connection not to work.

As for repairing them, don't know anyone who does it. Maybe worth asking
Norton Owners Club as they are the most popular ignition on Commandos. Doing
it yourself might be difficult because I think the box is "potted".

    Fair enough.
    Probably not...

Maybe we could organise it such that provided the UK Lucas agents still
service them, you'll send it to someone in the UK who'll drop it off at
    a local Lucas agent?

    Just a thought, like.

thanks for the info, i had good results repairing pirhana and morini
ignitions, so hoped to do the same with the lucas.
the wiring is ok, unfortunately it is the unit that died, probably because
    of a faulty battery.
    so far for the reliability.

without the diagram i will have to find another ignition,

    cheers,
