Fairy nuff. Although I do need a set, I was partly just being
    facetius^Wfasheshu^W a ****. I hope it's repairable.

My B6 appears to like to fall to the left (from a stationary position,
at least), which I'm quite pleased about as everyone else's seems to go
    right.

  2. Humph! I'm 'gently' looking for one of those to replace the 600S I
    currently have.

FFS man! You're supposed to be journalist. The last bastion of the
    English language.

  5. It's a Usenet rule that if you criticise someone else's grammar,
spelling or whatever, you'll make a similar mistake yourself in the
    posting.

So: where's your indefinite article, then? :))

Aha! Mine mistake was of the most subtle kind - I have no idea what an
    indefinite article is.

Commonly? Maybe occasionally, but GENERALLY, they're made of steel that's
not stainless. Hence the number of fucking rusty ones to be seen.
It's a piece of piss to hold a disc accurately. You obviously aren't *that*
    good with a lathe.
That's poor by the standards on here.

Yeah, the Quota's front discs are fairly substantial, though there are
hints that the edges, at 33K (L) and 25K (R) are slightly thicker than
the rest. There's a fair bit of mass to stop, though.

As far as rust is concerned, the worst discs I fitted were a set of
Pro-Lites to an FZR600, although they didn't visibly rust anything
like a set of CI ones would. They improved the braking, but if left
wet for a few days then the pads would leave a pitted imprint that
simply never cleaned off; they'd be juddery until I attacked them with
emery cloth. I ended up avoiding taking it out in the wet, which is
    plain daft.
Worst for me was the TL just after I fitted new pads, a week or so
before I had a track school at Cadwell. I took it to the track with my
fingers crossed but as the day progressed they got worse and were
really bad under heavy braking, particularly downhill towards the
lefthander after the Gooseneck. One of the discs turned out to be some
    0.3mm out.
Heh. The official unit of [disc] thickness - the SKU.

  14. Erm, as I pointed out earlier, this is definitely not true of some SOB
    discs.

It's almost like Victorian engineering: "How much kinetic energy has
    this thing got to handle?"

    "Dunno. Just make it thick."

  15. A lynch battalion, more like. Maybe a brigade. Quite possibly a whole
    armoured division.
