  7. LOL.

    *Excellent*

Forgive me for asking, but is that an original or did you nick it from
    somewhere else?

It's a shame my Z400J lunched itself in the days before digicams. That
was quite impressive - piston no.2 flew off the conrod, hit the head,
shattered into several pieces, with one large piece making a bid for
freedom via 3 cylinder walls before hitting the outside edge of bore
no.4 and falling into the sump.

Luckily, and I'll never work out why, the engine didn't lock up
immediately, giving me time to grab the clutch and cost to a stop.

Even more strangely, there was absolutely no evidence of damage until
    the head was off it.

As far as I know it is an original. I have used it for this kind of
situation ever since doing human biology 'O' level. It was just from
playing with words going from "retread" to "retard".

  16. I was referring to the thin - unsprung weight. Not Stainless. Stainless
is far too expensive for rotors.
IIRC Martensetic is magnetic and Austenitic stainless steel isn't. The
high chrome and nickel content suppress this transformation of ferrite
and cementite keeping the material fully austenite on cooling.

    :)
