I doubt it would be legal without it. It's not the first vehicle with
regenerative braking, but it does seem to be the first to use regen
when the brakes are applied - a modified (Peugeot?) had regenerative
braking, but only when the accelerator was lifted. Brakes were, AFAIK,
    just brakes.
Well, the answer is to manage the energy, so the caps are always
depleted when at speed and always full when stationary.

Not recently, I think. I know there are some killer left-handers on
my usual playground, near Alston - maybe that's it. The right-handers
are generally more in the way of sweepers, whereas the lefts benefit
from throwing the bike over and gassing the fucker.

Bought from new (never again - depreciation sucks), it's had one low
speed (i.e. at a standstill) drop on its right hand side, due to a
particularly greasy road, and I broke the fall...
That's the next job, I think.
Can't be, the reciprocal thrunge sprocket bevels clockwise, not
    anti-clockwise.

  9. I'm not sure if it could get on the street, though. There must be
something in C&U regs about a parking brake, and probably something about
being able to brake in a no engine/no power situation (cf. power-assisted
    braking).

  11. Inboard discs on an extension articulated shaft floating in a hub
fastened to the chassis (simply CV driveshafts). I'd think the
wheelmotors will weigh a substantial amount so adding weight of calipers
and discs to the unsprung mass can only be a bad thing.

I note there's no comment on how it handles - pretty crap, I'd think.
