  1. OK, here's the first of many (I'm sure) Lord of the Rat numbers.

Feel free to put them in your sig or stick 'em up your jumper - Whatever
you feel fit to do with them.

So, to the brave few below, please step forward:

    Pip#1
    Christofire#2
    Mups#3
    Nick#4
    Muck#5
    Spete#6
    Verdigris#7

A special mention should go out to Verdigris for getting lost and making
    me worry.

    **** :)

  2. In uk.rec.motorcycles, Verdigris amazed us all with this pearl of
    wisdom:
I don't really understand how a man of your stature would choose a bike
like a Z1000. Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely bike and I enjoyed the
hoonette I had very much but the feeling of not having anything
underneath you must take some getting used to?

I don't think I've ever been on a bike that was quite the same, it was
like I was holding on and I was sitting down, but the sensation of being
on a motorbike just wasn't there IYKWIM. It's a weird feeling alright, I
think I could get used to it though, especially with that engine and
handling. I really liked the way the power was instant, none of this
    waiting 'till 6,000 rpm stuff.

A jolly good ride indeed. If I'd have known you were going to be that
long I'd have taken it out for longer )
    You're most welcome :)

Getting back on the Tiger after a few days on the MV always makes me
laugh like a loon for the first few miles. It feels like riding an
armchair strapped on top of a chopper.

From what I remember, which admittedly wasn't much, the pegs were in
much the same place as mine but you bars were slightly further forward
and it didn't feel like I had to tilt my head up as much on yours.

It was very comfortable yes, and light, too.

That's how riding an awful R850R was after my bike. It was like a high
    chair with ape hangers :)

When I clamber off of the BlingMobile and get back on the ZZR1100, I can
never get over how small, light and flickable the ZZR feels.

I'd probably die if I tried to ride a sports 600 now.

The first time I hired a Wing for the weekend, when I took it back and
rode off on the CBRThou, I got off to check it was really my bike, it
    felt so small.

You might want to make sure you've got a crowbar handy for extracting it
    afterwards.

Tie a rope to it ...

That's the reason for soap on a rope, isn't it?

    Salad Dodger says...
When I had my first ZZR1100 I test rode a Firestorm. After getting back
onto my ZZR I got this feeling of "This is like riding a very fast
armchair". I came to the conclusion that if I needed to go that fast
while sat in an armchair then I'd buy a playstation and a copy of GT2
and also buy the Firestorm, which is exactly what I did.

he's welcome to give it a go.

I'm pretty determined to fit a track day in before the end of May,
Nigel could book in on his ZZR, and I'd swap bikes for a session, if
    he's keen...
