I thought she looked pretty average, actually.

The only film I've seen her look good in was "Pushing Tin"

    it's 200 mins long - that'll be "all afternoon".
Anything based on a Jeffrey Deaver book was bound to be formulaic, by
    definition.

No. They also missed out the bit near the end where Saruman assumes the
name Sharkey and roughs up the Shire.

Still a good film I thought. The effects in the battle scenes are great!

  10. Heh. Because of a listings cockup, while rewinding the tape, instead of
the end credits I saw the nearly end scene where the stabber gets shot
and DW gets rushed off to hospital. That was it for me; no point in
    watching the rest of it.

Doesn't seem like I missed much.

I thought "The Battle of Evermore" was LOTR inspired also.

You might also look up Bo Hansen's stuff. He had two albums released in
the early 1970s. One was called "Lord of the Rings" the other
"Magician's Hat". Rush had a track on Fly By Night called 'Rivendell'
and Marillion (from 'The Silmarillion') were Tolkien influenced.

From Googling, I find Blind Guardian (German melodic heavy metal band),
has lots of lyrics related to Tolkien's works. Their last album,
Nightfall In Middle-Earth, is ALL based on "The Simarillion". But yes,
we're still stuck in the 70's...

Back now. It is indeed fairly shit. Battle scene was prolly worth
    watching, but that was it.

I have the Bo Hansen album, it's shame they didn't use it for the film.
