....despite the fact that he had an offer from Ducati. So surprising. :-
    D

Elias spouted a world class rant about MotoGP politics after yet again
losing a ride... I loike Elias and all, but he seems to fall into that
venerable catergory of riders (I am reminded of McCoy, somehow) that
look utterly brilliant about once or twice a year, but otherwise look
    like everybody else...

  2. Ducati need to be shot, they have not thought about that Stoner
*might* not be able to ride 100% again.....

Must have been a BIG offer from Yamaha, because the one from Ducati
was alleged to be 7 million euro.

Its Ducati's loss, that's a loss x 2, because if they keep Hayden in
2010 they will again have a one man team, as in Casey doing all the
work and winning, thats even if Casey returns.......

LOL Hayden as the factory teams #1 rider LOL

    X 100

    You fucked it Ducati, BADLY

Stoner is a huge talent and would be difficult to replace for any
team. And the combination of many things that no one seems to be able
to put a finger on made him and the Ducati a top competitive combo.

I don't think the other guys coming up from the 125/250 bring to the
table what Stoner did, even though Ducati seems to bet their hopes on
Esparago or some other undiscovered talent. I think Stoner's talent
and background was quite unique. it is all very odd. one wonders how
far the Ducati has strayed from the machine that Bayliss rode to such
a clear vistory in Valencia. no one seems to know.

Ducati need some serious test riders on their top machines - guys like
Gibernau can no longer give them reference points.

Ducati are f*cked. There I fixed it for you.
And now a mystery disease that nobody seems to be able to put a finger
    on, has laid him low.
Mika Kallio is a class rider but right now he's middle ground.
Right now they're just filling slots on the grid. There'll be penalties
to pay to Dorna if they don't field the bikes. And there's precious few
riders available at this stage in the season. Who are they going to use?
    Michael Rutter?
Apart from being a completely new bike with a different capacity? What
may be more interesting is how far they've moved from the bike that
Stoner won a championship on. And of course the game has moved on with
lap times and race times quite a bit faster than 2 years ago.
Can't seem to get an answer to this and I keep wondering. Who tests the
machines and where for each team? There are serious limits on the racers
but I don't believe the factories can go direct from CAD to
manufacturing to Friday practice. And if there are journeymen like
Guareschi or Ito going round and round non-championship race tracks,
what rubber are they using? If this was going on, you'd think there
would be the occasional photograph and you never hear of Suzuki GSVs
turning up at a Mallory for a Wed evening practice session.

article on new deals from mundodeportivo.es at
    http://www.elmundodeportivo.es/gen/...ticia/mas-pilotos-que-maquinas-en-motogp.html
which results in the following put throught the google trnslation
    engine...

Spanish At least four, maybe five will be in the MotoGP grid next
year. A regular bikes Dani Pedrosa (Honda) and Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha)
will join the Alvaro Bautista (Suzuki) and Hector Barbera (Ducati
Aspar), while Toni Elias could be the fifth man and move to Yamaha
Tech 1 where no are satisfied with their pilots.

The 2010 World grille is gradually being defined. The teams have their
training officers and almost closed after the renovations of Dani
Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo. It remains a mystery: the recovery of Casey
Stoner, without whose help the future of Ducati seems complicated
because it is the only one who has taken advantage of the Italian
    bikes.

Where is there are still many unknowns regarding the satellite
equipment, but even in these there are many free sites as the machines
    available to these are rare.

Dorna has therefore two fronts. The first, the number of bikes on the
    grid, which hardly exceed 18.

And second, the 'dependency' of Spanish and Italian drivers
representing 50% of the grid. Recently Carmelo Ezpeleta said he would
like more than 4 riders of the same nationality on the grills, a
    problem for Elijah.

To enter next year with Aspar Team rider Hector Barbera as on a
Ducati. But there are two casualties, Team One 2000, the team of 'The
Pocero' and brothers Nieto, and Hayate's Team, an 'invention' to run
on the Kawasaki Melandri will not continue because the driver will the
Team Gresini, who has also signed with Marco Simoncelli. How much more
would a Honda for Japan's Hiroshi Aoyama, if he wins the World Cup
    quarter-liter.

Dorna is trying to convince Japanese brands which offer their engines
'leasing' privadospuedan for teams making their own bikes, as did
Kenny Roberts. And given the positive experience of Moto2, think Moto1
with 1000 cc engine and chassis number from free for private teams.
HRC Honda has already said he prefers the 'leasing' of the SBK bikes
and wield complete his contract with FIM to try to prevent

the key message being that Dorna sounds a tad bit desperate. they have
the most popular series, but they are aware the foundation is
increasingly and very visibly eroded... hmm. what to do with a
valuable brand name that no longer seems to be the best overall
    product in the market? :)
