......looking for recommendations from you lot. Not about the lid itself but
wheres got a decent range of helmets, both in size and makes, where i can go
see what is comfortable on my noggin?

I was all ready to nip down in the cage to J&S motorcycles in Watford today,
but luckily, upon checking thier website for the directions note that its
burnt down! Wont be open til mid february :-( I've been there a few times
over the years and always liked their range and prices.

So, localish (40 miles radius) to Bedford would fit the bill and with a good
    range.
That one in Luton that Lozzo recommended for gear is out as they didnt have
a lot of lids last time i was there, I already know about the two Flitwick
stores so ill nip over there tomorrow most likely, as I know Flitwick
Motorcycles isnt open Mondays anyway. But thats it, Bedford itselfs a
motorcycle black hole and I just know nowhere else so, if any of you lot
know of somewhere that fits the bill, say, Cambridge, Luton, Watford, Milton
Keynes, or Northampton way can you let me know?

BTW, Ill be looking for a full face ACU approved lid if that makes any
    difference whatsoever.

    Champ says...
Their helmet/clothing department guys and ladies are actually very clued
up and quite good at all branches - they hold lots of stock at all price
points and have a wealth of product knowledge. Simon at Harrow and Karen
at Watford are especially good, but the younger lads who run upstairs at
Letchworth are certainly hot on their heels and very eager to help.

I can't comment on the servicing or bike sales sides as I have never had
    much to do with them.

If you're looking for something bang up to date I'd wait a couple of
weeks or so, until they've got the new stock in that they ordered at the
bike trade Expo show, which is on at the moment.

    "Lozzo" replied to Champ says...
Ill give them a go then, and the others suggested.
Yep only thing with that is that leaves me with only my now "hard knocked"
lazer helmet that im not really happy to ride about on.
Granted its not cracked, got a nice deep scuff, but im sure that the
polystyrene or whatever its called on the inside will have been affected and
hence makes the helmet effectively fecked.
Not that the scooters back on the road, nor have i another to use but there
you go, and im off to the gp to get another 5 to 7 days off sick anyway
tomorrow as still hurts both on the hip and the neck :-(

Muhahah. Took the plunge and splashed out on a nice Arai Astro R in the
    January sales.

    Which is nice.

I bought a jacket from them last year and am pleased with it and the
    service I received.
