Have you been googling me? I admitted vaguely considering this club
while I lived in Oxford. I decided against it.

  4. Not fucking surprised, have you read the Constitution? What a bunch of
    old cunts.

They're all old cunts. About 20 years ago, they tried to turn MCSL into
    their house organ...

    This for a start:

"Members attending Club events must have their motorcycle taxed and
insured. The motorcycle must be in a roadworthy condition and have a
current M.O.T Certificate if legally required. Members must have a valid
licence to drive a motorcycle in the United Kingdom. Members must ensure
that their guests are aware of these obligations which also apply to
    them."

Is it really any business of a club whether bikes are taxed & insured
    plus riders are licensed?

  8. This, for a start...

A Member may be deemed to have left the Club for:
    a) having brought the Club into disrepute; and/or
    b) having endangered the life or property of another Club Member,
guest or other road user whilst on a Club event.

    Bunch of old farts.

    What reputation?

Also, it's the job of the rider (+ police + DVLA) to make sure that a
vehicle on the road complies with the minimum legal requirements, not
    a riding club.

I think that the fact the club feels it is its duty to impose the values
of its 'executive' on its membership says enough about the club for me.

    I don't accept that response.

And re diving clubs you're not comparing like with like here.

that's why I used 'executive' rather than Executive.
Because it's one person imposing *his* middle class value set, that's
    why.

Yeah and I'd expect better from you too )
Can you remember when being Queer was about being different, rejecting
society, middle class rules? JHC now you all want to be Tory MP's.

I'd join it purely to disrupt it.

This was pretty much the only reason I joined my employers "Stop
Smoking Committee" last year. What fun I have. Especially when I was
promoted to the group leader: Not much happens in the stop smoking
committee anymore. Well, I got our biscuit budget increased and we
have a meeting a couple of times a month in the fag room after work
while chain smoking but that's about it.

So the Hells Angels now have a risk management committee, finance
committee, annual general meeting, members benefits and a membership
    card? - cool!

  18. Splendid fellow. I do like good old fashioned anarchy.
I am resisting the urge to comment on the name of the room, as it is way too
    obvious.

    What kind of biscuits?

The only reason to use a helmet when diving is that you can mount
    lights on it.

Really? You seem to know all about this stuff. Have you ever been in a
cave or wreck? Just curious like as I have and I didn't wear a helmet.
