Looking for an alteration to my boots??

Hi guys, i'm looking for a firm who would put a zip in my new boots. I
want the zip to go down the back of the boots as this would make it so
much easier to get on and off. Can anyone reccommend someone? Thank

My personal information is probably too old to be useful, so I googled
the subject and there seem to be lots of options. One I recognize from
my years in SF is Johnson Leather Corp at 1833 Polk Street. They've
been around at least since the 70s, and might be able to advise you as
to whether your alteration concept makes sense (I'd be concerned that
putting a zipper in the back would reduce the structural support the
boots offer to the point that if you're wearing them for safety, you'd
do just as well to wear tennies).
