Curses. You (Krusty) are one of the ukrmers I've not met, who I'd
    like to. IYSWIM.

    Some other time, I guess.

I know my mind, is why. I'm addicted to the speed and thrill but at the
moment do not have the skill or experience to rescue things when they
    go pear shaped.

I'd be perfectly fine on any bike commuting, as I'm just by myself and
don't try to push myself too far, but riding in a group my self
preservation instincts just seem to vanish.

When you say "least forgiving", in what ways?
Knowing a 9R, but not knowing a Gixxer, you'll have to explain?
It'll take some work to get the knee to bend that much, but it'll get
there. I goto the gym once or twice a day at the mo, and honestly,
after 15 mins on the cycle machine the knee/leg feels great. Its
*inaction* that makes it worse oddly, or just overdoing it all day.
I'm remembering when Ginge changed to a 650 bike from a bigger one, and
his riding suddenly started improving. I can see that too much power
(or maybe a bike you can have too much fun on) can actually slow down
    how quickly you learn?
    Tempted :)

    In yellow...

Two choice really. If you're coming from Swindon direction, go straight
on down the side road after passing the front of the pub, rather than
going round the lefthand bend. There's a carpark down there on the
    right.

Alternatively, turn left down the side road off the first (right-hand)
bend & you might find some space there. That takes you up onto the
    Ridgeway eventually.

Likewise - not that I've met many others either mind. I've already told
SO I couldn't bring her along tonight as I was taking the MV[1] so you
could have that ride I promised too...
Aye, I'm sure there'll be plenty of other chances.

[1] As long as I can find all the paperwork I need to tax it before
    this evening.

I didn't. I said least threatening and most forgiving. In what ways?

Well, unthreatening 'cos when you first sit on it it's light but
stable, hence easily manoeuverable, and that feeling continues as you
pull away with not even a hesitant wobble the first time out. As you
gain some speed you find that it's the same all the time - no matter
how ham-fisted you are the bike seems to be able to react in a cool
and calm fashion, never letting you feel like you've unsettled it. So
forgiving in that you can go far beyond your own abilities (well,
mine, at least, and probably yours) without feeling like you even
    started to push the bike's.
See above. I've only briefly ridden a 9R some years ago, but it just
didn't inspire confidence in the saem way the gixxer does.
HEATHEN! It has to be the one true colour.

  11. Where does she hail from? Because if it's anywhere near Liverpool or
Manchester, having two kids doesn't mean she's over the age of consent
    yet....

    Err, yeh, sorry :)
So long as it still feels calm when I'm doing panic braking cause I've
realised I'm tanking into a corner too fast, and does slow down enough.

    Sounds good though.

Do I remember right that the latest version(s) are calmer than the
    earlier ones?
Might as well be invisible for all the good bright colours and
headlights do for the numpties who don't see you.

    Erm, I didn't.

I changed from a 650 twin to a 600 four.. didn't get on with it so
went for the ZRX1200, which on paper has almost exactly the same top
speed and acceleration as the 600.

Both the 650 and the 1200 I ride in a similar fashion, I just didn't
get on with the twitchness of the 600 or it's lack of torque.

I totally agree. the gixer is much easier to ride slow and fast than a
    9R.
I'm pleased to say I am not one of them. I knew that one day I'd get
one, but I just didn't ever expect to buy a white one.

Krusty, I'd lock the missus away for at least 24 hours before, and 24
hours after Champ takes the bike out, if I were you.
