While I suspect my D may be of some use when trying to rotate the
steering wheel, even I'm not arrogant enough to suggest it'd be able to
operate one pedal, let alone all three.

Err, I thought I could legally drive a 7.5 tonner on my existing
licence ? (passed my car test back in 1983)

I certainly drove one several times when I was 18.

Definitely going to have to read up on my entitlements .. !

This is going to be my excuse to refuse a frog licence if I ever get
nicked for speeding and/or other offences. The limit is 3.5 tonnes in France.

  13. I did my bike test in 1995 and my car test in 1999 and I'm over 31 by
    quite some distance.
A late bloomer, you see =)

I _think_ you'd get it back if you ever swapped back to a UK one,
based on date of passing test. BICBW.

_If_ you keep the medical up to date.
I have to renew my HGV and PCV entitlements next year. It means a 100
quid-ish medical at the approved place.

No, you don't need a medical in the UK to retain "grandfather rights"
    to the 7.5T class.

I 'lost' mine after I switched to a Swiss licence, as they _do_
require a medical for that class. I can't say I was in the least bit
bothered, as I never have, and can't ever see myself wanting to,
    driven a >3.5 tonner.
