Look out, road users...

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by LucretiaBorgia, Mar 3, 2011.

  1. I passed my HGV Class 2 test yesterday! Hoorah!

9 minor faults and a bit of earache for braking too sharply, some wibbly
    steering and mirror work.

I'm not rushing off to get a £7.50/hr TNT job, nor will I be laying out
the massive cost of doing Class 1 (yet hem hem) but I can now legally
    drive 7.5 tonners.

So yeah, watch it all you road rules flouting cyclists... :p

It could be worse, it could be the "I like Bouncing" song[2]

  7. I thought you could drive 7.5 tonners on a car licence. I hired a 7.5
tonne truck for a week in France a few years ago and drove one here
    working as a temp.

Not if you passed your car test after 1997.

  9. Only us old gits with old licenses. We get it as a right for being old,
the kiddies have to prove their worth.

    # the greatest kick in trucking 'part from knocking down a biker
    # is swinging 'round a roundabout and picking up a hiker

this stuff is almost on-topic, you know.

    oh, you ****.

Anyway, I'm going to retaliate with this[1]:

which is from almost the same year (well, the original is, if not
    necessarily this live version).

    Compare and contrast.

[1] only because I already mentioned earlier today my involvement with
the FNS[4] "collective" which was heavily influenced by the works of
    J.G. Thirwell[2]
    [2] and J.G. Ballard[3], but that's another thing.
[3] and Jello Biafra, but that's another other thing.
[4] I am pretty happy that no mention of any of this appears to have
made it on to the internet.

  19. If it changed in 1997 you *could* be as young as 31.

    Or as old as ****.
