Yeah, right on. Stereos should be banned too. And sat-navs. Only one
person should be allowed in a car at any one time, as people talking is
a distraction too. All roads should be lined with 5 metre high blank
walls so people aren't distracted by buildings & pedestrians. Warning
lights should be removed from dashboards - especially ones that flash.

Alternatively, the government could just **** off with all this 'we
must protect you from yourselves' shit, & concentrate on how to enforce
existing laws rather than invent shedloads of new un-enforcable ones
    (at great expense).

My old 'white hat' boss used to delight in thinking up surreal
legislation. One of his masterpieces was 'The Euthanasia, Christmas Day
    Exemption Regulations'.

Just wait until the 'Personal Health Responsibility, Minimum Dietary
Fibre Intake, Faecal Composition Testing Regulations' Inspector comes to
call one day in the future.

She's a wumman, ffs. Anything better than the IQ of a fuchsia is a
    bonus.

But apart from that - are you always such a small-minded,
    objectionable ****?

If you don't like the smell why do you go to pubs/clubs?
    (work is no excuse)
People have always smoked in pubs/clubs.
No one forces you to go to a pubs/clubs.

I hate the smell of cheap perfume, curry and many other things, lets ban
    them eh?

    Been to Scotland lately?
Every pub stinks of BO, farts and cheap tarts perfume.

Passive smoking as a health risk is total bollocks.
Show me actual proof not opinion!

    FACT!
Motorcycle exhaust gases are 1000 times more dangerous than tobacco smoke.

Except that none of those is as dangerous as a lit dog-end dropped in
your crutch. I'm with Ace on this one.

Therefore has decided that perhaps WUN and yourself are more suited to
each other, so to speak ;o)

heh. I wouldn't really put ESB in the 'lunchtime pint' category,
especially four pints, and even moreso if I wanted to do something in
    the afternoon.

You should have stuck to Pride.

Kin right on and they should make corks easier to get out of bottles.

You wouldn't believe the number of times I have seen some very nasty
accidents nearly happen when I have done this. Someone could get hurt.
Which is why I only ever drink champagne when I am driving and *always*
open a window to let the cork out.

I knew you always had an empty wine bottle to hand when driving, but
clearly I'd misunderstood the reason why.

I'd rather have a lit dog-end in my lap than a van on my head because
the driver was too busy reprogramming his GPS or fiddling with his
    stereo.

But the point is lobbing a dog-end out the window already breaks at
least two (practically un-enforcable) laws. Adding another one won't
make a blind bit of difference, other than to the government's coffers,
which will be considerably lighter having spent a fortune conceiving
    this crap.

Besides, I'd happily suffer the occasional dog-end interface[1] if it
meant a bit more of our personal freedom wasn't eroded.

[1] Which incidentally has never happened in 23 years of road riding.
Maybe you need to address your positioning & observation if it happens
to you regularly enough to be a concern.

Going off at a tangent what was the name of that show that starred the bloke
who played Manuel as someone who went to heaven after being hit on the
temple by a champagne cork...? I was a bit young so I can't actually
remember if it was any good or not, though...
