My cousin bought a barrel of whisky on the birth of his daughter, and
is now having some of it bottled. We're taking a case, on the basis
that we'll keep a few bottles and pass on the rest.

    So. These are 70cl bottles of 46 % (abv) 12 y.o. 1994 Longrow (the
peatier version of Springbank) whisky from a (used) Bourbon cask. Cost
is the same as it's costing us - ukp27 per bottle, plus postage if I
have to send it. Cash in advance unless I know you.

FWIW we're staying at the Black Horse, Hulland Ward, this Friday (8th
December) and near Tewksbury the night after, so can bring some with
us. If, that is, we receive it by then - it's due to arrive on
Wednesday. Otherwise it's likely to be after Christmas before we head
    south again.

Email me if interested. Email maddy works.

He's not selling the alcohol, he's selling the bottles & throwing in
    the contents as a freebie.

You're kidding, right? You only have to look at the new laws about
smoking in public places to realise these people redefine the word
    'stupid'.

  17. Oooh.

I'll bagsy one, if you can hold it until mutually convenient (or I can
find someone else taking a bottle to do so) and take paypal.

I suggest Colin organises a raffle in which all the winning tickets [1]
are drawn by UKRMers. He will then contribute a small donation to a
charity of his choice after calculating the running expenses.

Preferably he should organise it at a royal palace.

Bill will no doubt point us to the rules on raffles, but do we GAF?

[1] Costing the above mentioned sum plus an amount destined for
    charity.

Definitely not. HMRC are quite relaxed as long as no profit is being
    made.
